How do I make and export my first cover?

Open the Lighting Study sample, or bring a video or still into the studio. Pause on a useful frame and choose Use current frame. Add the short text that appears on the cover and the separate YouTube video title.

Use A, B and C to try different treatments. Compare at feed size, then choose Export pack. The ZIP contains your chosen covers and publishing notes. Save editable draft if you want to reopen those edits later.

Start with a video

Choose Video when creating a project. Open the clip, pause at the moment you want and use the current frame, or scan for candidate frames. The original video stays on your device.

Try the frame in more than one variant. Compare the cover and its paired title before exporting. If you sign in and save the project, the selected still can reopen without the original video.

Start a video project

Start with an image

Choose Image when creating a project and open your photo or an existing cover. Adjust the crop and add cover text separately from the YouTube video title. The template library also provides editable layouts.

Switch to Compare to check the small preview. Export a single cover or select the variants you want to include in the publishing pack.

Start an image project

Start with a script

Choose Script and add the video title, audience and visual direction to your brief. If image generation is available for your account, the project can open its image jobs with the brief ready to review.

Review the prompt and usage before submitting. Once a background is ready, bring it into the studio and add the cover text yourself. You can also open the studio directly and add a source image.

Generate and export across projects

From Batch publishing packs, open AI batches for multiple videos. Pick two to six active projects, review their prompts and set the batch budget. The queue reserves part of that budget for every attempt.

Closing the page does not stop the queue. Retry an individual failed item if there is budget left. If an outcome is still awaiting confirmation, check its status before taking any further action. Use Batch publishing packs to package covers already saved in your projects.

Where does my media go?

The original video stays in your browser. Free tools and the anonymous studio process your files there. Signed-in projects privately save the stills or images used in a cover, along with its title, layers, brief and versions.

Saving a project does not start an AI job. Before you submit an AI request, the app identifies what it will send, such as a prompt, selected still or current cover preview. FrameToCover uses OpenAI for these cloud operations.

Do I need a card? How is AI usage counted?

Basic editing and exports do not require a card. Image generation, image edits and AI cover feedback have separate usage limits. Three directions uses one image request per direction.

Open AI usage to see your current limit and recent activity. The pricing page shows whether paid checkout is available. Use project support if you have a billing question.

What can someone see from a review link?

A link opens one saved cover and its video title. Visitors do not get the original video, source image, brief, other variations or editable layers. Editing the project does not replace the image on an existing link.

You can let anyone with the link view it or require a specific verified account. Named invitations also appear in that account’s review inbox. Links last up to seven days. Revoke access sooner in the studio. This stops new access, while downloaded copies remain with their recipients.

How do I review covers with my team?

Create a team workspace and add the projects you want to share. In Members and invitations, enter each recipient’s verified email, choose a role, then send them the invitation link. Invited teammates need to sign in with that email within seven days.

Viewers can open saved covers. Reviewers can comment on a cover and mark a position. Managers can also approve a version or ask for changes. Use Previous revision to see an older cover and its feedback. If you remove a project from the workspace, its team feedback is cleared and the project remains in your personal library.

How do I hand a project to another account?

Open the project, choose Transfer project, and enter the recipient’s verified email. Share the invitation privately. The recipient has 48 hours to sign in with that email and accept.

The recipient receives saved versions, project images and review history. Once they accept, your team access and old review links end. Wait for any AI jobs or webhook deliveries to finish before transferring.

How do I connect a script or an MCP client to a workspace?

As the workspace owner, open Team API and create a read-only key. Copy it when it appears, then pass it in the Authorization: Bearer header. The project endpoints and MCP tools use the workspace chosen when the key was created.

A signed Webhook can notify a receiver when a new revision is saved. Use the verification example on the Team API page, keep the signing secret private, and deduplicate deliveries by event ID.

What if my edits have not saved?

Keep the tab open if the studio shows an offline message. Reconnect and check the saved status. If another tab changed the project, save an editable draft before opening the newer version.

For help, send the steps, project name and what you expected to see. Keep passwords, API keys and source footage out of the request.
